The Golden Rings of Lök

When the earth was young and the Dew flowed freely from the Mountain, there was a dwarf named Frito, who was a blacksmith of greatest skill and renown, as well as a splendid cook. Lök, a servant of Carbos, lord of the Fat Ones, commissioned Frito to fashion for the gods, a tasty treat from the rays of sunlight. Frito traversed the heavens on the wings of the dawn, where he alighted in the palace of the lordly sun. Without his knowledge, Frito proceeded to shear his beautiful golden locks and place them in his satchel.

When the lordly sun looked down upon his reflection in the waters, he noticed the missing rays of light. His anger burned brightly as he searched about for the trespasser. Frito, realizing that he had been found, slid down the curtain of twilight as the lordly sun gave chase. Frito cried out to Lök, who only hid in the shadow of the Mountain. Frito fell headlong into the great Sea of Dew, where the sun was not able to retrieve him.

Frito, angry and full of wroth, fashioned the sunrays into beautifully crafted rings. He then dispersed the Golden Rings of Lök upon the earth, for mere mortal men to partake. They are most enjoyable with the Dew of the Mountain.
